Challenge:    Poor Color and Printing Bottlenecks

  • Replace current printer; improve color quality and add scanning capability
    • Current device was too slow and did not print acceptable quality.
      • Felt their volumes would increase due to an expansion of their business
      • Caused bottlenecks in print output and projects were delayed.
    • Needed to scan contracts for storage and retrieval purposes. Contracts were manually stored in file cabinets and frequently misplaced or lost.
      • Multiple page contracts could not be scanned from the ADF in one pass causing office staff to spend a lot of time reviewing scanned document files and using software to merge files.
    • Customer ad proofs are complex and require true Adobe PostScript 3 printing. These files take too long to process which causes print bottlenecks. Also each print has to be reviewed for accuracy and often has to be re-formatted and reprinted because of errors.

Solution:    IRC4080/H1, USend, Job Build, Fiery Print

  1. Improved process of scanning contracts with USend and Job Build which allowed office staff to scan and save contracts in one step. 
  2. Fiery Print controller improved processing times and produced accurately rendered PDF files.
  3. Improved color quality using Fiery print controller.
  4. Improved production speed using IRC4080.

Results:    Corrected Color and Full-Speed Print Production

  1. Savings of 20 hours per month in labor costs by managing contract forms by reducing the time it takes to scan, store and retrieve documents.
  2. Improved color and saved additional 10 hours per month in labor costs by reducing wasted ad proofs due to poor color output.
  3. Eliminated print production bottlenecks with improved processing times and production speeds.
