History
Datamax started as the A.B. Dick Company in 1955 selling mimeograph and offset press technology. A lot has changed for our clients along the way, and we’ve helped them adapt their document strategies to stay competitive.

In 1981, we became Datamax as we entered the plain paper copier market and began our partnership with Canon. Since then, Datamax has grown into one of the largest independently-owned Canon dealerships in the country.
In addition to Canon, we represent products from leading manufacturers such as Lexmark, and HP. We're proud to have added Samsung as a business partner in 2010.
This winning combination has allowed us to grow in St Louis to over 2,500 customers with over 15,000 devices currently being supported.
As technology has advanced, Datamax recognized the need to become a one-source solution to customers by providing network consulting and systems solutions. We offer managed network services as well as any level of consulting and IT projects, such as network assessments, network upgrades, backup and disaster recovery, thin client, network optimization, server virtualization, network security.
Our network technology partners include Laserfiche, N-able, Sonicwall, Barracuda, Cisco, Replay, Citrix, VMware, HP, Dell and Microsoft. We are an MSP Elite Parter.

As we focus on providing our customer with efficient and cost-effective technology-base solutions, we are supported by one of the Midwest’s largest teams of certified in-house and field support engineers and service technicians. We are 100% Canon ATSP certified.
Our continuous growth and proven best practices approach to supporting our customers has allowed us to expand over the last 25 years into Dallas/Fort Worth, Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Kansas City. And our growth has continued with our recent expansion to the Columbia/Jefferson City area in Missouri.
To better satisfy the needs of our customers and provide them more flexibility, we started our in-house leasing division in 1975. Today this group is a key component in meeting the ever-changing needs of our customers’ technology requirements.
