Situation: Private Health Care Organization– 81 employees

Challenge: CRD No Longer PDQ

  • The Central Reproduction Department (CRD) was losing credibility as a valued resource
    • Taking too long to produce certain documents because of the manual work required.
    • Jobs rejected because of colors inaccuracy and inconsistency.
  • The CRD is responsible for mass producing educational and informational materials which consist of files created in different software applications.
    • There was no way combine these files. As a result,
      • Files had to be printed as separate jobs
      • Printed jobs are then hand collated into finished sets.
        • Most of these documents required manual subset stapling and manual tab insertion (tabs were hand-created)

Solution: ImageRUNNER 5180 with ImagePass H1, ImageWare Publishing Manager Pro

  1. Efficiency of CRD staff was increased by producing jobs requiring less manual work by using device with upgraded finishing capabilities and tab creation.
    1. Use of the ImageWare Publishing Manager Pro manages print jobs and print out projects with files from a variety of software applications, and insert printed tabs and covers.
    2. Final print job is now collated with printed tabs inserted and stapled if required or ready for binding.
  2. Color quality and consistency improved through use of Fiery Color Wise capability of ImageRUNNER 5180.
    1. Color output is accurate and consistent.
    2. CRD no longer has rejected jobs which saves money for the company, and has helped them again become a valuable asset to the organization.

Results: CRD Rep Saved – and $$ as Well

  1. Saving $6,000 per year (approx.) through elimination of much of the outsourcing and waste in CRD with the Datamax Solution.
  2. Saving additional estimated $500 per month in inefficient employee costs by eliminating the manual job merge, stapling and tab issues.
