Challenge: An Educated Mess - Disconnected and Inconvenient
- Wanted to replace current devices but needed a better solution
- Copiers not connected to the network
- Copier locations were not convenient for the teachers to use for small jobs so they will typically print to smaller more expensive devices.
- Library did not have a scanning solution for students
- Unknown cost and volume going to locally connected printers.
- Used two Risographs as a copiers which was not cost efficient in this environment
- No duplex function - ran anything requiring two-sided printing through the machine twice.
- No printing or scanning capabilities
Solution: Two (2) ImageRUNNER 5050s, One (1) ImageRUNNER 3235, One (1) ImageRUNNER 3245, One (1) ImageRUNNER 3030, One (1) ImageRUNNER 1025
- Ability to print direct to new devices - eliminated having to print and then make copies.
- Added features of duplexing, finishing, and scanning capabilities.
Results: A Connected Learning Environment
- Consolidating billing eliminated accounting issues with tracking print and copy costs to help improve tracking of departmental budgets.
- Savings of $1,036 per year with devices that have scanning, finishing and duplexing capabilities while reducing labor costs due to increased productivity.
